Rose Sakowitz was sick of class. Sick of showing up and doing the same monotonous thing everyday. (it had been that way for the past few days, and how stressful and upsetting you must realize that type of living is for a Billings girl used to excitement). So she booked a day at the spa. One lovely weekend day to do nothing but have people wait on her hand and foot, (well, fingernails and toenails).
She showed up early in the morning that day, just after a stop at starbucks to get her usual (a tall fat free caramel macchiato), and made her way to the front desk. After a little I.D. and signing in nonsense, she sat down in a "relaxation" room just off the front hall with a glass of cucumber water and began looking through the list of pampering choices. Nothing could get better than this day. She would make sure of that.
If only she wasn't there all alone like the lamest person on the planet. This was not how it was supposed to be.

Noelle Lange, was so ready to spend a day off of campus even if that meant spending it alone. She was confused by the events that had happened with Josh earlier in the week and how Trey never managed to call her after telling her he liked her. It was kind of an asshole move. She really needed a massage from the tensions in the house and between her and the stupid dean. Who the hell did that man think he was. She was Noelle Lange for crying out loud and she had more control of the school then the Cromwell, so why was he acting like a tyrant.
Going into one of the rooms she saw a familiar face. At first she couldn't tell who it was exactly, but on closer inspection noticed it was Rose. The two may have not been the best of friends, but they were friends nonetheless, well semi-friends, and housemates. The least she could do was talk to her. "Hey Sakowitz."

As she flipped through the list of various activities, she was in the mindset that she would be the lone star at the spa today, since it was sucha random time and day to be there in the first place. Even though it was a majr downer to think of being alone, at least it meant being away from people that thought they were in charge or otherwise got in the way.
But, of course, she was never really alone at all. That's the clear feeling you get when you get into Billings. Into Easton, really. And it was never more literal than Noelle walking in twenty minutes into her perfect day. But there she was, walking up and greeting her like they had planned to meet and hang out for the day or something. Rose was on her good side and by her side, but they weren't exactly best pals.
It wasn't like she didn't like Noelle, she actually looked up to her, who didn't? And they had managed to get along fairly well through there relationship, so there wasn't any fear associated in it as there often was when catching up around Noelle. They were just people who happened to be in the same place at the same time.
Still, weird seeing her alone.
Rose looked up and smiled genuinely at Noelle from the couch she was sitting on.
"Oh, hey Noelle, didn't expect you to be here." Safe and neutral topics always good to start with when unsure of comments to come.

Noelle gave Rose a tiny smile. "Yea, I needed to get away from everything." Well obviously she hadn't gotten away from everything. Nothing against Rose or anything though. The few of the other Billings Girls were starting to act kind of annoying and catty and really really stupid. Rose not amongst the group though that were acting that way. "Well the girls really... and Josh for a little." Surprise surprise right. Those to just usually kept their distances from eachother, but nope. Stupid boys.

Rose didn't exactly know how to respond to Noelle. How could someone be so clear but so vague at the same time? It was maddening.... Rose decided to go for neutral again, and just keep things light, nice and safe, boring, but safe. Like she needed any drama today, even though she was secretly itching for some.
"I guess you can just forget all about that today then, it'll be good for you," she said friendily, but blandly. What was she supposed to say, 'please please leave so i dont have to watch every little thing i say even though i really wish i could be your proper friend instead of your buffer'? Yeah right.
Rose smiled and finished up checking off the little pamplet of activities. She took them up to the desk and then returned.
"So are you spending the entire day here, or what?" she doubted the answer would be 'of course i'm staying here all day, now that i have you to hang out with.' But hey, it was small talk. She didn't really know what else she was supposed to say.
No matter how long you are around Noelle, somethings just don't change, even though she wished they would.

Noelle shook her head. "Nope, I'm only here for like an hour or so." There was no way in hell she'd be able to even think about staying here all day. She had so much other things to do and this was not one of them. She was even surprised she got the chance to come here. "Don't you think its weird that we live in the same place of residents, but never really talk. I barely even know anything about you except that your best friends or whatever with that bitch Cheyenne." Blunt, but true. Besides Cheyenne was a complete and total bitch anyway.

Rose sat back and listened to what she said, taking in everyword and weighing it for sarcasism or emphasis of any kind. She did this with everyone. It's usually the way people say things that make them dangerous or valuable.
Yes, she had expected that. Noelle always had something or another necessary to do. It was surprising enough to see her hear in the fist place, let alone have supposed she would be hear all day.
Rose tasted those words. It was obvious Cheyenne was not on Noelle's top ten favorite people ever; everyone could see that. And really, Rose didn't like her all that much either, but if Noelle chose to ignore her half the time, who else was she supposed to turn to? It was dangerous, yes, to hang out with someone on Noelle's bad side, but she had to be able to eavesdrop on someone, even if it means hanging out with people who think they're better than they know.
Besides, whatever happened to keeping enemies closer than friends? And really, Rose didn't have a best friend, she just had aliances and an excellent ear for things she should't hear. Oh God, her thoughts were rambling, she had to say something....
"Pretty weird I suppose, I guess it's just bad timing...." yeah right. "Cheyenne? We hang out a lot, but I wouldn't call us BFF's forever or anything. What do you want to know about me anyway?"

Noelle shrugged, "If that's what you wanna call it." What was bad timing exactly. Oh well whatever. "I dunno, anyone you like or something." It was the first thing that popped into her head. And, besides talking about boys was always fun. Well unless their first name is Josh last name Hollis.

Shaking her head Rose replied (knowing Noelle wouldn't believe her or like it).
"I don't really have anyone in particular on my mind right now, believe it or not. No one's interested I guess..."
Doesn't say this in a 'oh i'm so insecure nobody likes me way' just says it as a matter of fact. She wasn't really into anyone right now, which was a shame because it would've made a good conversation peice.

"Your a Billings, everyones interested." Noelle chuckled. It was true though. They were Billings, and all guys wanted them. Even if it was just sex.

Rose laughed, "I suppose I should just look more then," she said vaguely. "I don't know where I would even begin to look..." she added as an afterthought. Hey, it was true enough. "So who exactly are you hanging out with these days? Friends and boyfriends, either one you'd like to share."

"Just look at Kelter boys, they're the only ones worth lovin'." Noelle said. Again true. That's where all the popular boys were. "Well I almost went out with Trey, but then I don't know what happened there." Their whole little limbo thing was confusing. She was over it anyway. "Then I did something with someone that I shouldn't have done and now I wish that I could kill him." She was still shocked about what her and Josh had done to the point where saying his name was.... weird.

Rose wasn't surprised or anything when Noelle started talking about her love life - it was a confusing muddle most of the time, even if you got information from the girl herself. Rose had a feeling Noelle was just as confused as the girls that gossiped about her outside the house.
"I agree with that! I swear, almost all of those guys look like they were statues of greek gods chizzled from stone. But who knows, maybe someone nice will pop up somewhere randomly with some potential - I could only hope..."
Rose pitied the boy (who's name was obvious but unmentioned) Noelle was angry at. He was probably as good as dead if Noelle was hating him at the moment.

Even if Noelle was bad at Josh and herself for what they had done, she still liked him a little bit. Which was weird because normally she actually really did hate him. Noelle laughed, "I know right. It's like if they were a piece of art they'd sell for millions." All of the Kelter boys looked like model material and everyone knows that. And, if you didn't then you should crawl out from the rock you were hiding under.

Rose laughed at that, vaguely wishing that she could buy some pictures of those guys. It would be a lot easier to pick that way!
Standing up, Rose stood their awkwardly, not really minding though. "I need to go get scrubbed or washed or something before I die." She was getting restless and running out of things to say. Which usually meant it was time for a change of scene of some kind.
